Indian coronavirus daily positivity rate climbs to 15.13 percent

India reported 2,82,970 new cases of coronavirus in the last one day in India as per the reports from the Union Health Ministry. The cases are 44,889 more than yesterday. The daily positivity rate in the country now climbed to 15.13 percent which is highest in the recent times. 1,88,157 people recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours and there are 18,31,000 active cases of coronavirus currently. The total number of Omicron cases reported till date in India are said to be 8961 and these cases saw a rise by 0.79 percent since yesterday. The daily tally is also the highest in the recent months after the second wave of coronavirus calmed down and they are 18 percent more when compared to yesterday.

The positivity rate was 14.43 percent yesterday and the recovery rate in the country is 93.88 percent. A total number of 70.74 crore samples are tested in India till date and 18.69 lakh tests are conducted yesterday. A total number of 158 crore doses of vaccines are administered in India till date and the vaccination drive for the children and the booster dose drive too is happening at a fast pace as per the reports from the Union Health Ministry. The Centre asked the states to ramp up the tests across all the states considering the rise in the new cases. India witnessed 17 lakh new cases in the last one week but the hospitalization rate is very low. A total number of 56 lakh precautionary doses of coronavirus vaccine are given in the country after the drive started. These are given for the healthcare workers, frontline workers and the people aged above 60 with comorbidities.
