Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the Rs 100 lakh crore Gati Shakti Master Plan that will provide multi-modal connectivity for more than 1200 industrial clusters which will also include two defense corridors in the country. "We are laying a foundation for the next 25 years. This national master plan will give 'gatishakti' to develop the plans of the 21st century and will help in the timely completion of these plans" told Narendra Modi after the launch. Narendra Modi announced 'PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan' during his Independence Day speech this year. This plan will bring the design of the projects with a common and holistic vision.
It will also enhance the global competitiveness through the infrastructure of the next generation and seamless multi-modal connectivity. A digital platform has been created that will bring 16 ministries that includes the rail and roadways together. The platform also provides high-resolution satellite images, utilities, administrative boundaries, infrastructure, logistics and land. There will be an empowered group of secretaries that will be headed by the Cabinet Secretary for the implementation of this initiative. Gati Shakti Master Plan also includes the schemes like Sagarmala, Bharatmala, Udaan, Inland waterways, expansion of railway network and Bharat Net.
The officials said that there would be seamless movement of goods and people. Gati Shakti Master Plan will fulfill the targets of the government for the period 2024-25.
