Susan Nian has been disseminating knowledge and good values for past 25 years in UAE, started as a school teacher in 1995 with an English High School in Dubai has decided to shift back to her native country India.
"25 years in UAE, we had built a world around us in all areas. The advantages were plentiful - both my husband and I have enjoyed our career, immense possibilities. We landed here soon, after the Kuwait invasion. My husband's company had temporarily been set up here. As luck would have it, we created a niche here.
"I have taken up a job in school (to be with my school going children) in the beginning. Without realizing it, teaching has become a passion and when Dubai has grown into an educational hub, it has taken me to greater heights. I taught at the university level over a period of 15 years, covering most of the emirates, taught many nationalities.
"I am extremely proud of the fact that my student fraternity includes many UAE nationals who are occupying higher positions. I take pride in the fact that I contributed in imparting knowledge to many," said Prof. Susan.
Professor Susan loves to shop; she thinks the vibrant city of Dubai has it all in terms of brands, fashion and trend. Clothes and fashion is a passion and shopping gives her lots of happiness and satisfaction.
She said: "Travelling and shopping are the two things I have enjoyed in this beautiful land. I have shopped in almost all possible outlets. I have an innermost instinct to look for the value for money whether its clothes, furniture, essentials. It was fun realizing the fact that you don't need too much money at your disposal. Being in a place in the heart of the world, the UAE has given us plenty of opportunities to travel - Malaysia, Singapore, in the East, Kenya, Europe and a long list in the bucket list too."
As a teacher, Susan believes that UAE is the best place for children to grow learns because they get a lot to learn about so many cultures and countries in one place.
Susan cherishes the freedom women enjoy in UAE. Susan has captured all the memories and time spent in UAE, that she will keep with herself for the rest of her life.
