
Dubai airport authority will charge Dh35 to the passengers flying from Dubai for using the airport facilities. The charge for passengers departing from any Dubai airport will be effective after June 30.
The crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, approved Executive Council Resolution No (8) of 2016, that will apply a fee on passengers for using airport facilities in Dubai.
The announcement stated that, “The resolution aims to improve Dubai’s airport infrastructure and boost its capacity, which is set to reach 100 million passengers by 2023, as well as support expansion projects such as the state-of-the-art Concourse D at Dubai International Airport, the expansion of Terminal 2 and the renovation of Terminal 1." “This resolution is effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette."
Dubai’s departure fee is not unique, several other countries including including Australia, China, Germany and the UK also charge an exit tax for using of airport facilities
