WhatsApp is adding a new function for iPhone users that lets them use a real WhatsApp help conversation right in the app. Replies to messages sent in this conversation will be created by computer programs (AI). The app already has ways to get help, but this new conversation will likely make it easier for people to reach WhatsApp when they have problems. According to a function follower, people can also get help from real WhatsApp support people in the same conversation. The new help conversation function is now being rolled out on the newest WhatsApp version for iPhones, which people can get from the App Store. The function tracker WABetaInfo first saw it in a test version, but Gadgets 360 workers were able to use the new WhatsApp help conversation in the regular version of the app. It is expected that everyone will be able to use it soon.
Once the function is working on a person’s account, they can start a new WhatsApp help conversation that has a Meta Verified blue check mark next to the name of the conversation. The About section of this account says that it is the official help account for WhatsApp. The company recently shared plans to release another AI chatbot that will give product ideas for businesses. To use the new WhatsApp help conversation, people should go to the settings area in WhatsApp, choose Help, then Help Center, and then Contact us. This will open a new conversation with the official WhatsApp help account.
When someone starts talking with WhatsApp help, they will get a message telling them that replies are created by AI and that some of these answers might be wrong or not right. The AI gives fast replies and creates a support ticket number. All messages made using Meta AI will have a label in the lower right corner of each message bubble, next to the time. People can send questions or pictures of their problems and will get automatic replies.
Even though the AI-created answers might address common questions and worries, the WhatsApp help conversation does not seem to have a way to ask for help from actual WhatsApp support workers. When Gadgets 360 team members tried to get human help, they got an automatic reply saying that the conversation is being watched, and support workers would help if needed. The special WhatsApp help conversation function is expected to be released for people on WhatsApp for Android in the future. Gadgets 360 workers were able to turn on the function on the newest test version of WhatsApp for Android, showing it is being tested now and will be available for people on that platform later.
