
Bahrain’s Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa has received the ‘Flame of Peace’ Award. He has become the first Arab prime minister to receive the honor, granted by the Association for the Furtherance of Peace.
Archduchess Herta Margarete, the president of the association presented the award to Prince Khalifa at a ceremony, organized in the capital Manama. The function was attended by Vice-President Archduke Sandor von Habsburg, enior Bahraini officials and ministers.
The prince has been awarded for playing a crucial role in enhancing humanitarian work, strengthening humanitarian relations and promoting peace among peoples of the world.
Prince Khalifa said that, “The award is an honouring of the Bahraini people whose society is a model for openness and fraternity, as well as for commitment to the values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence among all its components.”
